We are pleased to announce that Keighley Creative is set to bring live music to town as we have booked two young, female rock musicians to perform at our upcoming WOW Girls Festival event on Sunday 3rd March 2024.
The band, Sorelle, comprises of two sisters, Gabrielle and Jorgia Murphy, who regularly perform professionally in venues around Bradford and Halifax and have even performed at the Piece Hall!
Gabrielle, 16, sings and plays bass. Jorgia is 14 and plays guitar. They both developed an interest in music at an early age but the pandemic led to their parents buying them guitars and this led to a passion for music and rock and roll!
Gabrielle is now studying Grade 8 bass guitar and has recently achieved a distinction in her Grade 8 RSL Vocal exams as well as being awarded Musician of the Year at her music school, where she teaches part time.
Jorgia is now studying Grade 8 guitar and is an accomplished singer having been taught to harmonise by Gabrielle. As they are sisters, their voices compliment each other beautifully and they now share lead vocals during their performances.
The girls began performing professionally in 2021 and recently performed to a large audience of 400+ people.
They now perform regularly as the acoustic duo, sometimes with percussionist, Harry, or as a rock band alongside 3 male musicians under the name Into the Mystic, and had their first live performance at The Underground in Bradford last year.
We are so impressed with the amazing achievements of two young women in just three years!!!
Sorelle are performing in the Stockroom performance space within Keighley Creative at 1.30pm on Sunday 3rd March as part of the WOW Girls Festival event.
They’ll be performing some empowering songs, think Demi Lovato, The Bangles, Tina Turner, Katy Perry and Stevie Nicks!
The event is free and there’s need to book, just rock up!
