Denton Moor drawing expedition

Denton Moor: Data collection through the arts

Join Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT) and artist Naseem Darbey to learn more about Yorkshire’s peatlands and the role of data collection in informing their restoration.

Through a guided walk on an unrestored peatland site, learn how and why we monitor these landscapes over time, and support data collection creatively through recording the peatlands and their unique species through a guided illustration workshop.

Naseem and members of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s peat team will lead a group onto Denton Moor to discover its botany and natural history up close and through creative drawing techniques.

Each participant will be given a bag of high-quality drawing materials to use on the day and take away for future wild drawing adventures.

Naseem’s practice encourages people to explore drawing and creativity in fun and experimental ways, and the day will bring participants up close with Denton Moor’s spectacular wildlife and the story of its restoration.
