Saturday will see the return of the much-loved Cecil Green Arts’ Lantern Parade weaving around Cliffe Castle Park, led by the fabled giant illuminated puppet, the Bradford Boar, from the Compendium of Mythical Beasts and a new puppet to be unveiled for the first time. Cliffe Castles own giant puppets will also join the parade.

“The Bradford boar will rampage through Keighley, scaring and delighting in equal measure. His giant bulk manoeuvring majestically through the park towering over people and trees, rather confused at this new world he finds himself in. Should we be scared? NO – we can tame him Keighley!”

We’ll be kicking the festivities off at 6.30pm, with a rocking performance from Street Horn and Brass Band – the Peace Artistes. This large entourage of musicians, drawn from different parts of West Yorkshire, are something special, bringing not only their distinctive lively sounds but dramatic costumes as well. They will also be leading the Lantern Parade!

The Lantern Parade will begin at 7pm illuminating the grounds of Cliffe Castle and “Lighting Up Keighley”. This highly anticipated event will bring together people from across Keighley, who having participated in Lantern Making Workshops prior to KAFF, will have the opportunity to display their illuminated creations. If you didn’t get chance to attend one of the lantern making workshops there will be spares at the park….or bring a torch.

Cecil Green Arts will bring Saturday evening’s entertainment to a close in a dazzling live fire drawing display especially designed for this year’s festival.

The park will be dark in places so please try and bring a torch.Park café open for hot drinks, take-away food.
