If you already paint, please bring along your usual watercolour painting materials.

However if you are new to painting, you can pick up materials easily from local independent suppliers like The Art Shop Skipton and The Art Shop Ilkley or alternatively try The Works, The Range or Hobbycraft.

The material list is below. We have included some links to some suggested materials if you are unsure what to buy.

Watercolour paints: Pan sets or tubes. Our recommendation:

Paper: 140lb “Not” or rough surface paper. Available in pads A4 upwards. We would suggest buying a spiral bound cartridge paper sketch book that lays flat like this one.

Brushes: Round No 2, 8. Flat ¼ inch. Our recommendation:

Palette: plastic or old dinner plates work well or alternatively you can purchase a proper palette such as a well palette, folding palette or butchers tray, just choose one you like. We can suggest this one:

Masking Fluid for reserving white of the paper.

Water spray

Water pot: No need to buy one, just bring an old jar or ramekin.

Pencil and pencil eraser.
